Valgardena (or as it is known in German, Sankt Christina), in the beautiful
holiday area of Val Gardena - the ideal destination

The Val Gardena is known mainly for its
extensive ski slopes, such as the downhill course on the Sassolungo
(Saslong/Langkofel in Ladin and German respectively) which hosts the
Alpine Ski World Cup, the Seceda ski area, the
district around Monte Pana and the fantastic Sellaronda; from Val Gardena it is
also possible to reach Alpe di Siusi.
There are also numerous
hiking and biking trails over rolling pastures, amidst a scenery of and
steep mountain sides, with stunning panoramas that will make the hearts of
nature lovers beat faster. Mountain climbers will really be in their element at
Santa Cristina: the area is well known among mountaineering enthusiasts for its
variety of climbing opportunities. Culture lovers will certainly appreciate the
parish church or Castel Gardena- though this
is privately owned - as ideal destinations for an outing.
In winter or in
summer, Santa Cristina Valgardena in South Tyrol is definitely worth a visit -
preferably with the whole family!
